The Italian Genealogy Database

12,000 names transcribed, dated and sourced — one binder per region, one label per family.

Type a surname: if the library has already read your family's records, they are here — transcribed from parish registers, civil records and military rolls, never scraped from the web.

Trusted Sources for Reliable Italian Records

The Italian Ancestry Genealogy Archive is an essential resource for anyone tracing their Italian heritage.

I have gathered more than 12,000 names from trusted sources, including the Italian State Archives (Archivi di Stato) and popular genealogy platforms like Ancestry.com, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, and Antenati – Italian State Archives. In this archive, you can explore birth, baptism, marriage, military, and immigration records, especially for Italian immigrants who settled in America.

The library's genealogy database is an essential first stop for anyone tracing Italian heritage.

It is built from original records read in person parish registers, civil records, military rolls and notarial files from the Archivi di Stato and diocesan archives across Italy. Where a name also appears on public portals such as Antenati or FamilySearch, the database notes it as a mirror, never as a source: the paper comes first. Birth, baptism, marriage, military and immigration records especially for the families who settled in America.
