Hi there, I’m Miriam, and today I’m taking you with me on one of my all-time favorite routes along the stunning Italian Riviera. Three charming villages, one perfect day, and a whole lot of beauty. From Noli to Finalborgo, with a stop in Varigotti—this is the ideal trip for anyone who loves the sea, authentic towns, and experiences that leave a mark.
🐟 Noli – Where I Fell in Love with Liguria
The first time I visited Noli, I fell in love instantly. It’s a real, working fishing village, where colorful boats still rest right on the beach among sunbathers, and you can buy fresh fish along the palm-lined promenade.
The historic center is a treasure: ancient arcades, stone towers, and remnants of Monte Ursino Castle perched above. Don’t miss the San Paragorio Church, the Loggia della Repubblica, and the old town hall.
👉 My tip: if you love hiking, head up to the Manie Plateau. The views of the sea and mountains are breathtaking—and if you visit in spring, keep an eye out for wild asparagus!
🏖️ Varigotti – Bright Colors and a Beachfront Dream
Varigotti is like a watercolor painting come to life. The Saracen-style houses, painted in soft, warm tones, are built right on the beach. Step out your door and your feet are in the sand—what more could you want?
A tiny tower sits high on a rock watching over the village, and every corner feels peaceful and picture-perfect. I never leave without taking a hundred photos (and they never do it justice).
👉 Try this: rent a kayak or pedal boat from the guys at Winterkayak (at the “20 Riviera” beach) and paddle out to Punta Crena—a secret beach you can only reach by sea or by descending a rope along the cliffs. It’s absolutely magical!
🌅 Finale Ligure – Sea Views and a Medieval Gem
Finale Ligure is a place with many sides. There’s the lively beach town, Finale Marina, full of shops, seaside cafes, and beaches that invite you to slow down.
But the real jewel is Finalborgo, just a few minutes inland. It’s a walled medieval village, full of charm, history, and quiet elegance. I always feel like I’m walking through a storybook when I’m there.
👉 For amazing views: hike from the village to Castel San Giovanni and Castel Gavone. From the top, you can see the rooftops, the hills, and the sea—it’s just unforgettable.
❗ Quick Advice from Someone Who Knows
If you can, avoid weekends in summer. It gets super crowded and parking is almost impossible. I always go during the week or in shoulder seasons like spring or fall. It’s quieter, the light is amazing, and you can really enjoy the vibe.
